More information and advice on HIV and the law

The HIV charity NAM produces this website and also publishes information in various other forms, including a book called Criminal HIV Transmission which is available to buy from our online bookshop or can be ordered by contacting NAM directly on 020 7840 0050 or email info@nam.org.uk.

The Terrence Higgins Trust, another UK HIV charity, update a section of their website whenever there are new developments in criminal prosecutions for transmitting HIV.   

The Equality and Human Rights Commission works to eliminate discrimination and protect human rights. There is a lot of information on their website, and they also have helplines in England, Wales and Scotland. They may be able to offer you specialist information and advice on your rights at work, or in accessing health care or housing, for example.

The Citizens Advice Bureau website can provider general information about help available in cases of discrimination, and other legal matters. You can find information online here or where to find your local CAB here.
